The Hide is a bespoke, 29-square-metre detached garden studio designed specifically for couples. Set on an elevated site, the open-plan space is dominated by a three-metre patio window that offers uninterrupted views of the surrounding hills and the varied wildlife of Lochdon.

The Living Space

The interior is designed for comfort and simplicity, featuring:

  • Lounge Area: Two comfortable leather armchairs positioned directly in front of the panoramic windows.

  • Sleeping Area: A king-sized ottoman bed with under-bed storage for luggage, dressed in high-quality linens.

  • Kitchenette: A small but well-equipped kitchen area with an integrated hob, microwave, fridge, and all essential utensils for self-catering.

  • Shower Room: A modern en-suite with a large walk-in shower and premium towels provided.

  • Boot Room: A dedicated entrance porch at the rear for storing outdoor gear and footwear.

Tariff and Booking

For the 2026 season, the following rates and conditions apply:

Period Minimum Stay Rate
April to Mid-October 7 Nights (Sat to Sat) £120 per night
Mid-October to March 4 Nights £120 per night

  • Deposit: A 20% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • Payment: We accept bank transfers and credit cards.

  • Check-in: 17:00 – 19:00 | Check-out: By 10:00.

  • Adults Only: The Hide is specifically designed for two adults. We do not have the facilities or the license to cater for children or infants.

  • Pet-Free: To protect local wildlife and maintain the studio environment, we do not allow pets.

  • Accessibility: Access to the studio is via a set of steep steps from the parking area, making it unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.

  • Transport: A car is essential for staying at High Oatfield. Please ensure you book your ferry crossing in advance via the Calmac website.

  • EV Charging: Due to insurance policy restrictions and the location of the parking space, we cannot charge electric vehicles on-site.

The Hide is one of the best places we have stayed in on Mull. Weather was far from perfect but we had a fabulous week. Sea eagle flew over most days, so close we could see its catch! Birds on the bird feeder kept us entertained for hours. What a brilliant week and we will come back.
